Project Management Board
The Project Management Board (PMB) is the highest decision-making body within the project. It is made up of one voting representative from each partner and is chaired by the project Co-ordinator. The Co-ordinators of the Workpackages  also participate in the PMB without voting rights. The PMB has the ultimate responsibility for the overseeing of the technical, legal, contractual and administrative activities of the project.

 

Project coordination
The project´s Co-ordinating Partner is the National Hellenic Research Foundation, Athens, and the project Co-ordinator Dr. S.A. Kyrtopoulos. He is assisted by the project’ Management office consisting of the project Manager Dr Eleni Makrinou, Dr M. Botsivali and secretariat. The Co-ordinating partner is responsible for, among other things, acting as the intermediary between the consortium and the European Commission, having the day-to-day supervision of the progress of the project work plans and receiving and distributing all payments made by the European Commission.

 

WP Co-ordinators
The main tasks of the WP Co-ordinators are to prepare, in cooperation with the other WP partners, the WP workplans and progress reports, to ensure the smooth execution of the Work package tasks and the achievement of deliverables and milestones and to inform the Project Management Office of any emerging problems and work with it for their solution.

 

External Advisory Board
Three External Scientific Advisors, distinguished scientists in the areas of molecular epidemiology, genomics and childhood onset of chronic disease including asthma, have been appointed to provide strategic advice on the specific plans of the project and evaluate its progress. The current Scientific Advisors of the project are:

  • Prof. Christopher Wild, Director, International Agency for Research in Cancer, Lyon, France
  • Prof. Martyn Smith, Department of Environmental Health Sciences, School of Public Health, University of California, Berkeley, USA
  • Dr Francine Kauffmann, INSERM, U780, Villejuif, France

 

External Ethics Advisor
An External Ethics Advisor has been appointed to advice the project in connection with any ethical problems arising during its execution. The current Ethics Advisor of the project is Dr. Rodolfo Saracci, IFC-National Research Council, Pisa, Italy.
