8-Chloro caffeine binds to adenosine receptors (Ki = 30 uM). 8-Chloro caffeine potentiates UV-induced chromosomal aberrations in Cl-I Chinese hamster embryonic lung cells. 8-Chloro caffeine is a derivative of the methylxanthine alkaloid caffeine.
